How do I request an Item ID?

Item IDs serve several purposes. They are required for items that will be tracked in inventory or as capital assets. Item IDs are also recommended for the purpose of spend tracking and contract management. Item IDs on contracts can be used to limit the use of the contract to only goods and services that are part of the contract agreement, and prevent misuse of the contract.
